I hope for a Nigeria where the grasses are green and the air is clean
I hope for a Nigeria where the light is constant and darkness repugnant
I hope for a Nigeria where the President is well and the citizens live swell
I hope for a Nigeria where our votes count and corruption is not our fount
I hope for a Nigeria where Journalists don’t die and people don’t cry
I hope for a Nigeria, where terrorists are not born and our image put to scorn
I hope for a Nigeria where bigots don’t live and we learn to forgive
I hope for a Nigeria where the water is blue and Leaders bow out when due
I hope for a Nigeria where money is not our drive but poverty alleviation our thrive

I hope for a Nigeria where life is a privilege and not a sacrilege
I hope for a Nigeria where the youths are inspired and not conspired
I hope for a Nigeria where encouraging impact is respected and not rejected
I hope for a Nigeria where the people stand to hope and do not run to lope
I hope for a Nigeria where our senators disagree to later on agree
I hope for a Nigeria where public property is not abused and neither misused
I hope for a Nigeria where achievers are celebrated and not deserted
I hope for a Nigeria where petroleum is not our fight and disparity our plight
I hope for a Nigeria where musicians sing change and not sex or price range
I hope for a Nigeria where insincerity is the past and honesty our nearby cast
I hope for a Nigeria where the writers remain passionate and never say it’s too late

I hope for Nigeria; my country that all of the above come true
